PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Understanding emerging technical and social issues in earth resources development is an important challenge when navigating subsurface work. But the Earth Resources Development Engineering graduate program at Mines will help professionals develop skills and expertise related to mining sustainability, reclamation, Earth observation, modeling and more to ensure success when out in the field. The interdisciplinary nature of this graduate program prepares graduates for any problem they may face and become leaders beyond the classroom.

Requirements and Costs

Master’s Thesis

  • A bachelor’s degree in some discipline of engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
  • Applicants who have graduated from Mines within the past five years are not required to submit GRE scores. Applicants from outside of Mines or that graduated from Mines more than five years ago must submit GRE scores
  • Mines accepts GRE scores from tests taken within five years of the date of entry
  • Statement of purpose letter: present your professional and personal goals
  • Resume/CV
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • For international applicants or applicants whose native language is not English, please review the ENGLISH PROFICIENCY requirement tab 

Master’s Non-Thesis

  • A bachelor’s degree in some discipline of engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
