Use your Lockheed Martin benefit to earn your M.S. in Computer Science at Mines

Earn your Master of Science in Computer Science in just two years (part-time), using your Lockheed Martin tuition assistance benefit, through a combination of on-campus and online courses at Colorado School of Mines. During your two years, you’ll complete several courses and a large CS project that will advance your skills and accelerate your career growth.

Apply by January 5 for priority consideration for Fall 2021; deadline for applications is July 1.

Overview

  • 8 total courses + 2 summers spent on a large CS project (which can be built to suit your interests or current professional focus)
  • On-campus and online courses offered
  • On-campus courses offered twice weekly (Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday), with possible start times at 7:30 a.m., 8 a.m., 3:30 p.m. and 4 p.m.
  • 2 years (part-time) to complete degree
  • Start in early January or late August

Lockheed Martin Tuition Assistance Available

All Lockheed employees are eligible for education assistance for continuing and graduate education in a field related to the business. For technical degrees such as CS, Lockheed Martin provides $12,500/year with a lifetime cap of $72,000. Meet with Lockheed Martin’s personnel department to learn how you can tap into this benefit and the requirements of doing so (e.g., minimum grade required).

Don’t have a B.S. (or minor) in Computer Science?

If you don’t have an undergraduate degree in computer science, you will need to complete up to five foundational CS courses (many of which are offered online). CS faculty can work with you individually to determine the number of foundational courses required, based on your skills and professional preparation.
